About us

My name is Théo Schers, I'm Swiss, I’m 20 years old, and today I live from my passion: surfing.

I discovered this sport when I was 7, after my parents moved to Senegal. From the very first day, I fell in love with the waves — and ever since, surfing has been part of my life for 14 years now.

Nine years later, as I was finishing school, I started thinking about my professional future. One idea came to mind: doing an internship at my surf school to discover what it was like to be a surf instructor. That was the spark — I knew right away I wanted to turn my passion into a career.

When I returned to Switzerland, I went to Alaïa Bay, the very first wave pool in continental Europe. After earning my ISA Level 1 certification, I was offered a position as a surf instructor, lifeguard, and wave guide. I stayed there for three years, while also traveling and training to improve my skills. That’s when I passed my ISA Level 2, allowing me to provide more personalized coaching.

I also had the chance to go back to Senegal and later join a surf club in France, where I discovered competition-level coaching — something I became deeply passionate about.

After three exciting seasons at Alaïa Bay, an incredible opportunity came my way: working in the Maldives at a luxury 5-star resort. Of course, I couldn’t say no. This experience allowed me to refine my skills, discover the world of luxury hospitality, and learn how to deliver outstanding service in a breathtaking setting.

That island taught me so much, both technically and personally. I had to adapt my approach to meet the highest standards, and it truly helped me grow.

Now, with more maturity and motivation than ever, I’ve created SPG Surf Coaching, an online platform dedicated to surf coaching. My goal is to provide tailored guidance, adapted to each personality and level.
